WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRAW?
You do not have to have any artistic experience to be able to take this course. Many people have grown from being "stick figure drawers" to creating recognizable essence drawings of a sitter's loved ones. If you do not have artistic experience, then this course will still be helpful to you.
The program will teach you the basics of drawing facial features but you are encouraged to devote extra time practicing and learning how to draw facial structures so that they eventually become second nature.

HOW MUCH TIME WILL I NEED TO INVEST?
Live classes are approx. 90 minutes to 2 hours Weekly for 12 Weeks. This would be the minimum time investment however the more time you invest in your personal development, the more you will get out of the program.

This program will introduce you to all of the aspects and considerations of doing Spirit portrait readings and provide you with the essentials for creating a solid foundation upon which to continue your development.

Will we have the opportunity to practice during the classes?
Yes. Exercises will be provided during as many of the classes as possible depending the extent of the material being covered and the number of questions that are posed during the class. There may not be sufficient time for an exercise during all classes.

To get the most out of this opportunity you are encouraged to attend as many of the live classes as possible. Lectures will be recorded and uploaded to our school Portal at Joseph Shiel Arts Institute so if you are not able to attend the Live classes you will able to view them by logging into your Free school account.

HOW LONG WILL I BE ABLE TO REVIEW THE COURSE MATERIAL
You will be able to access all of the course materials for a period of 1 year by logging into our school portal. A free school account is required.
what materials do i need for this program
The basic suggested supplies needed for this course are very minimal:
Other optional supplies that you may like to experiment with will be discussed in the program
- Drawing paper - preferably 8 1/2" x 11" or larger, unlined
- Kneaded eraser
- Tortillons (blending stumps) - various sizes for shading (Optional but very helpful to have)
- Pencil - 2B lead or mechanical pencil with refillable lead
- Pencil sharpener - if using a non-mechanical pencil
